Yugoslavia was a country in Southeastern Europe. Following World War I, Yugoslavia became a nation, and was officially recognized in 1922. In 2003, Yugoslavia became the Federated Union of Serbia and Montenegro, which further separated in 2006. Other than Serbia and Montenegro, Yugoslavia broke up into 4 additional independent states: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Slovenia.
